The Takamine EG363SC dreadnought electro-acoustic with CUTAWAY for Upper Fret Access. This model utilises a solid Spruce top delivering a full tone with good volume & projection and rosewood back and sides and features a special 3 piece rear panel combining rosewood and quilted maple to add a richness to the tone.The asymmetrical neck on this elegant instrument is mahogany with a rosewood fretboard that has an ornate abalone motif at the 12th fret and inlaid abalone dot markers to provide fret orientation. The bridge has also been crafted from rosewood with a compensated saddle and black nylon bridge pins for string retention, the decorative rear panel of the instrument features an attractive triangular section of quilted maple edged with abalone and wedged between two rosewood sections.The ornamental appearance of the EG363SC is further enhanced by the abalone binding encompassing the edge of the body and the ornate Abalone rosette encircling the sound hole. This is also a simply beautiful instrument – not many guitars under 1000 can cause an aesthetically-minded guitarist to stop and tak notice, but this one can.The CP102C pickup provides clear, vibrant amplified tone. On the upper left hand shoulder of the guitar is the TP4T pre-amp that provides 3 band EQ plus an in-built guitar tuner, it also houses the 9v battery that drives the electronic circuitry. The industry-leading electronic means that feedback or noise issues are minimised.The dimensions and design make this guitar very comfortable to play even for those with smaller hands. This is a great all round guitar with good response for both flat picking (strumming with plectrum) and finger picking. The EG363SC can hold it’s own against many other guitars at twice the price.
Pre amp
Providing all the flexibility and control you’d expect, the TP4T is a 3 band EQ preamp with bass, middle and treble controls, a tuner and a low battery indicator light which is activated when the battery falls below a certain voltage. Whether you are recording or playing live, great tone is guaranteed. The preamp is switched on by plugging a standard mono instrument cable into the endpin/strap pin jack. Unplugging the cable switches the preamplifier off. The TP4T Preamplifier is powered by a single 9 volt battery.
