Takamine G FXC EG260C Acoustic-Electric Guitar
Construction features:
The Takamine EG260C electro acoustic features a cutaway FXC body shape which is similar to the NEX but not so deep. The guitar comes with a spruce top, nato back and sides and an ivory binding. The fingerboard is made from rosewood and the head is fitted with stylish chrome tuners.
This EG260C comes equipped with the world renown Takamine pickup & TP4T preamp featuring a 3-band graphic EQ and a built-in tuner to let you perform in any setting.
The FXC designs are widely known as “finger-style” guitars. While these smaller bodied models are exquisite finger-style instruments, they are often found used on stage by jazz and pop players looking for a light, comfortable performance tool that has a high feedback threshold at extreme sound pressure levels.
This EG260C FXC delivers great performance and good value for money that players have come to expect from Takamine’s G-Series.
Tone:
The tone is more than competent retaining a nuances of the more expensive Takamine models with delicate and bell-like with soft mid-tones and plenty of high-end sparkle. The real benefit of the electro-acoustic set-up is that you can redefine the sound produced by your tone woods without being tied to one particular sound.
Finish:
The finish on this guitar is superb especially considering the price and is available in Black, Brown Sunburst & Wine Red.
Verdict:
You’ll be amazed by the Takamine EG260C’s affordability coupled with its easy playability and big sound. It’s a solidly built, comfortable workhorse guitar with bags of amplified character and a name on the headstock that you can be proud of. The guitar as a whole is great for an intermediate player and a perfect first guitar.
