G-Series instruments are Built to Takamine designs in some of the most modern guitar shops in the world. This simple, electro-acoustic manages to pack killer value into an affordable acoustic guitar. To keep the price low, some minor features have been left out; the guitar has plain instead of abalone inlays, and the lacks a pickguard, for example. The EG511 focuses on great tone and highly recognisable styling that means this guitar will fit in anywhere!
The EG511 has a solid Cedar top AND a solid Mahogany (Sapele) Back. The EG511 SSC is a Dreadnought shaped body with cutaway for a good balance between supporting bass without being too boomy – great for a solo singing guitarist. With all of the traditional clarity and brassy-ness that Takamine guitars usually have, this acoustic is great for pop and rock accompaniment as well!
Pre amp
Takamine guitars have always led the way with their on stage electro-acoustics. Takamine create the technology which allows a plugged in acoustic guitar to sound like an unplugged acoustic guitar. The main step forward in achieving this was the introduction of the palathetic pickup – a unique device which allows optimal transference of the vibration from the guitar to the circuitry of the preamp. Takamine strive to remain at the very fore of preamp technology, which ensures that their guitars are the best sounding that money can buy.
There is also a non-electro, non-cutaway version of this guitar – the G511SS.
